In the dressing room with Matti Salminen & Siegfried Jerusalem during LOHENGRIN in Zürich where Louis Gentile had the small role of Edelknaben. Since there were no PRIVATE dressing rooms back then in Zürich, all that separated the stars from the Opernstudio misfits was a thin half partition wall. More than often we "may" have disturbed them. Years later, Louis would rent Matti's Berlin apartment during productions at the Deutscheoper. Within 12 years of this picture Louis would share the stage again with Matti in Barcelona, but this time as Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer. About this time as well Louis would be asked to jump in for some of Siegfried Jerusalem's concert and operatic appearances.

Dedication from Karen Huffstodt: "To Louis- My "pillar" of strength!" In reference to an all to UN-artistic situation in Catania Sicily where we were singing Der Freischütz together. ( Max, Agathe ) After eating some obviously bad fish in Taomina, I had to rush Karen back to Catania where she desperately needed to use the facilities. A drive where noises not unlike a woman trying to give birth .. or trying not to .. were heard every second of this long 30 minute drive.
